Samuel Parks (before 1733 - ca. 1788)
Lineage Key to be assigned soon
Samuel Parks married Mary (Vaughn?) and left a will in 1788 in Orange County, North Carolina. He received several land grants along the north side of the Haw River in 1780 (now present-day Alamance County), leaving much of it to his wife and children in his will.

There is much misinformation out there on internet genealogy sites conflating this Samuel Parks with others of the same name, and we will attempt to provide enough documentary proof here to clear up the confusion caused by sloppy and incorrect research, including bad information in DAR application records.

In addition to providing documentary evidence, we will utilize DNA evidence, both Y-DNA and atDNA, to support our conclusions.

In addition to the children mentioned in Samuel's 1788 will, it is likely that Hugh Parks Sr. (01IP1) is a son, possibly the eldest, and that Samuel Parks (01AP1) is either a grandson or great nephew.
